Hello and thanks for visiting!
Welcome to the Kinder cook. My name is Adel, and I have been vegetarian for over twenty years and transitioned to veganism in early 2016. My grandparents instilled in me a love of my Cuban heritage, culture, and cuisine at a very early age. I began learning to cook from them as a kid, and I always wanted to be in the kitchen with them. When I adopted a vegetarian diet in my teens, the passion for cooking that I developed so young served me well.
I am a Cuban Vegan which is almost like a unicorn in it’s rarity. I’ve learned to keep my family’s cooking traditions alive by creating cruelty free Cuban food. Out of desire and necessity I have amassed a collection of recipes that I love to cook. When I began this blog, I was vegetarian and you will find some vegetarian recipes here, which I am in the process of transitioning to adding vegan options, or converting to a strictly a vegan recipe. Just to be clear though:
- I am not a classically trained chef
- I am not a nutritionist or a dietician
- I am not an expert of any kind (except what I like, and what I think tastes good)
I am just a lady that loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen.
I’m passionate (and opinionated) about food and fine ingredients because I LOVE to eat. I love to savor a meal that I crafted from fresh, whole ingredients. I love to feed the people I love my cooking. Many people believe that plant based diets are inadequate, nutrient deficient, and bland. I think they just haven’t tried the right recipes.
I hope you find something here that you enjoy and inspires you to find passion in your own cooking.
I welcome your feedback. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop me a line below.
Buen provecho!
Adel
